Artist Residence was created 3 years ago to provide a platform for artists to promote and showcase their work free from commission. As a fusion business AR can only continually support artists through the success of its rooms. We support artists through our 2 programs:

All profits from the hotel aspect are reinvested directly into the quality of the rooms and into the 3 artist programs. It is only through the success of the hotel that we can continually support local artists.

These "Mission Statements" are usually very loose sentences that give off the same vibe as that of late night advertising so rather than giving you same dribble that every other corporation, our business is broken down very simply into 3 separate aspects: Rooms, Art & Food. Together our main target is to provide artists with a platform to establish themselves.

Rooms Mission:

Artist Residence is not really hotel, its more like a large house. Most of our rooms are individually designed by local artists and we aim to continually improve our guests' experience to ensure it always remains unique. Our young team of "hosts" will do their utmost to ensure you are guided to all the best places that Brighton has to offer.

Art Mission:

The profits from the hotel help to support our artist in residences by providing free wall space in our gallery completely commission free. We continually have art openings every few months which are open to the local community. Our Artist in Residence Program gives one artist the opportunity to create a new portfolio of works along with an exhibition at the end of their stay with us.

Food Mission:

Having recently redecorated our cafe space, we sell good quality quirky food.
